Age 40, passed away and stepped into glory on Monday, November 27, 2023, after suffering a lengthy illness. He passed peacefully at Montefiore Hospital with family at his bedside.
Ron was the first child born to Ronald Carder, Sr. and Cynthia Kerr, both originally from Scott Township and later from Dormont and Carnegie respectfully. Ron leaves behind his only child, Austin Carder of Carnegie. Surviving also is Ron's long-time fiance, Sarah Langer of Verona and step-daughter Maddie Jones. He was a brother to Caesar Tavoletti, Greg Carder, Doug Carder and Robyn Kerr. He will be deeply missed also by aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Ron attended Chartiers Valley School District for a number of years, but ultimately graduated from Keystone Oaks High School in 2000, where he was a member of the hockey team. He was all about the Steelers, Penguins and even the Pirates. Ron was a career cab driver for every vendor in the city at one time or another. He knew Pittsburgh roads all too well and transported some of his favorite athletes. He also played golf and liked to party. A bit rough around the edges on the surface, he was a big old teddy bear at heart, well known for being the life of the party, and was sure to have everyone laughing. He truly lit up the room with his sense of humor.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, December 2nd from 1-3:30pm at the Henney, Bradwell & Nirella Funeral Home, 524 Washington Ave., Carnegie, where a Celebration of Ron's Life will be held at 3:30pm. The family encourages all those attending to wear anything Steelers. Ron could always be found in Steelers gear, so we can confidently say that he would want this. Let's celebrate his life and bring our team good luck!
