At age 86, Marian passed peacefully surrounded by her immediate family on May 6, 2024, born and raised in Dormont and formerly from Carnegie (Cubbage Hill and Rosslyn Farms). Daughter of the late J. Crozier and Florence Cain, preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Burnett, Jr. and loving and devoted mother of Wendy (Janocha) Bowen (Fred), Roy Lisle (Carolyn), Craig and Sherri L. Bauman. Loving grandmother of Alexandra Janocha, Zachary (Traci) Janocha, Max Janocha, James Burnett, Katherine Burnett, Justine Burnett, Gabrielle Bauman, Seth Bauman and Hannah Young. After graduating from Dormont High School and attending Nursing School Marian worked as a registered nurse at South Side Hospital in Pittsburgh, until deciding to work the equally challenging job of stay-home mom. Marian continued to volunteer in many endeavors throughout her life including Women’s Club at the United Methodist church in Carnegie, Boy Scout and Girl Scout Leader, delivering Meals on Wheels, visiting seniors at many local nursing homes, volunteering at the Senior Center in Carnegie, and then working in the gift shop at St. Clair Hospital for more than 25 years. Marian loved to travel, play tennis, and knit. She also had a passion for advanced competitive square dancing which she did for many years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Henney, Bradwell & Nirella Funeral Home where family and friends will be received on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at 524 Washington Avenue, Carnegie. There will be a service at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Following the service burial will take place in Chartiers Cemetery.
