Joan M. (Goldbach) Wrona

Age 82 of Carnegie on Saturday June 10, 2023.  Beloved wife of Dennis J. Wrona; loving mother of David Wrona (Jennifer), Jeffrey Wrona (Janis), and Daniel Wrona (Jennifer).  Survived by one sister Patricia Skreski (late Stan) and six grandchildren; Jonathan, Paul, Thomas, Haley, Courtney and Griffin.  Also survived by her niece Mikey Allison and several other nieces and nephews.   

After graduation from St. Luke’s High School in 1959, Joan began working at the Pittsburgh Press and worked there until she and Denny decided to have a family. In 1965, she married her loving husband Denny and over the next few years became the mother of her three beloved sons. She was blessed with six grandchildren whom she loved dearly.  She was able to combine her love of travel with visits to them as they have moved around the country and the globe. Joan also deeply loved her five sisters and brother, their spouses, children and grandchildren. The many extended family gatherings she coordinated gave her much joy.  Joan was also a fiercely loyal friend to classmates, neighbors, travel friends, and touched the lives of many.  She was also incredibly faithful to her church and God.

Visitation Sunday, June 18th from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Henney, Bradwell & Nirella Funeral Home, 524 Washington Ave., Carnegie.  Mass of Christian Burial Monday, June 19th, 10:00am at St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 330 Third Ave., Carnegie.  Interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be held on Friday, June 23rd, at 11:00am   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions in Joan's honor be made to:  American Lung Association, PO Box 756, Osceola, WI  54020-0756; website http://lung.org
